MAKE PAPER!
Exploring the Expressive Potential of Handmade Paper

In today’s digital age, instead of becoming obsolete, paper is gaining new attention. Along with it, interest in the history, tradition and practice of hand papermaking is growing as many discover its potential as a vibrant art form.

Made with natural cellulose fibers such as cotton, abaca, flax, hemp—and even worn clothing—handmade paper has a unique presence all its own and the processes involved in producing it can be transforming.

With a portable papermaking studio in tow, Gainesville artist Amy Richard offers a number of hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and/or presentations.
